Kangundo Member of Parliament (MP) Fabian Muli Kyule rose to the limelight on Wednesday, February 22, when he challenged President William Ruto to abandon his dam projects and pump water from Lake Victoria and the Indian Ocean.
The two-term MP asked the president to deploy the Kenya Defence Forces (KDF) to pump the water to different homes and help the government slash its expenditure.
He was trolled by Kenyans who questioned the motive behind his proposal, when the country was grappling with the effects of prolonged drought.
However, other Kenyans warmed up to Muli's suggestion arguing that Lake Victoria's water benefited other nations, yet the country was battling acute food shortage.

A Masters of Laws graduate from the University of London, Muli started his academic journey in 1986 at St Martin Primary School in Kitwii. He later joined Kabaa High school, both located in Machakos county.
After high school, Muli joined the United States Army, where he was deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan as the logistics officer, a position he held for two years between 2006 and 2008.
In 2010, the lawmaker joined Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology (JKUAT), where he graduated with a Bachelor of Laws in 2014.
While at JKUAT, Muli started Forbes Global Kenya, a company that supplies African workers abroad with major operations in the Middle East.
According to Muli's LinkedIn profile, Forbes Global Kenya obtains manpower from Kenya, Ghana, Uganda, and Cameroon and supplies them to Qatar, Bahrain, and the United Arab Emirates.
He thus became a human resource labour migration and sub-contracting consultant in 2013 before launching Global Track Security Limited, where he is still the director.
His first stab at politics came in 2017 when he successfully vied for the Kangundo parliamentary seat on Muungano Party and successfully defended the seat via the same party in the 2022 elections.
