The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) approved the licence application of 22 air service providers and denied the application of three providers.
In a Gazette notice dated Friday, March 3, the government entity detailed the terms of the renewed licenses for each provider.
"Pursuant to the provisions of the Civil Aviation Act, 2013 and the Licensing of Air Services Regulations, 2018 (Regulation 28), notice is given that the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority has made decisions on applications for air service licences whose particulars were previously published in the Kenya Gazette Notices No. No. 6174, 10679, and 15926 of 2022," read part of the notice.

Some of the providers were granted the right to operate in Kenya for a period of three years while others were only allowed to operate till the validity of their existing licences.
Those whose licenses were extended include:

5. Penial Air Limited
6. SAC (K) Limited
7. Prime Aviation Limited
8. Reliance Air Charters Limited
9. Helicopter Charter (EA) Limited
10. Lady Lori Kenya Limited
11. Advantage Air Travel Limited
12. Capital Connect Aviation Supplies Limited
13. Capital Airlines Limited
14. Dragonfly Aviation Limited
15. Airvan Kenya Limited
16. Ramani Geosystems Limited
17. Flight Training Centre Limited
18. Pan African Airways Limited
19. Twinstar Aviation Limited
20. Youth Limited
21. Wilderness Air Limited
22. Alpha Aviation Company LimitedOn the other hand, KCAA Director General Emile Arao denied the licence application of three air service providers including DAC Aviation (EA) Limited, I Fly Air Solutions Limited, and Ishara Air Baloon Safaris Limited.
Some of the services offered by the providers included domestic non-scheduled air service for passengers within Kenya, aerial photography/sightseeing, flying instructions in Kenya, and international non-scheduled air service for cargo and mail.
Other aerial work services offered include advertising operations, Aerial patrols, agricultural spraying, cloud spraying, fire spotting/control, game and livestock selection, and parachute jumping.
One of the preferred routes by the applicant was listed as the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
Additionally, KCAA also listed other air travel providers that had applied for licences to operate in the country and were still awaiting responses.
"Any representation in favour of or against any application should be made in writing to the Director-Generak, KCAA, so as to reach the Authority within 21 days from the date of publication of this notice," read part of the notice.
Anyone seeking to send their views should also address to the applicant by registered mail.
