KAMPALA, May 3 (Xinhua) — Uganda's Ministry of Health on late Saturday reported three new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the East African country's total to 88.
The ministry tweeted that out of 2,484 samples taken, two foreign cargo drivers, one Kenyan and another Burundian had tested positive for the novel coronavirus at the border with Kenya.
It added that efforts to track the two drivers are underway. Normally the drivers are allowed to continue with their journeys after the samples are taken.
A Ugandan national has also tested positive in Rakai, a border district with Tanzania, and is being transferred to the neighboring Masaka district, the ministry said. "He is currently staying at home with his parents and efforts to evacuate him to Masaka hospital and quarantine his parents are underway," it said.
